Charges of rape against musician Sjava By Lady Zamar\u00a0has been\u00a0thrown out. Sjava\u00a0was facing a\u00a0sexual abuse\u00a0charge after\u00a0Lady Zamar\u00a0opened a case of rape that allegedly happened at a hotel in Thohoyondou, Limpopo, in 2017 after a concert. Lady Zamar opened the case of rape at the local\u00a0police headquarters\u00a0last year and\u00a0it had been\u00a0passed on to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) for\u00a0a choice\u00a0on whether to prosecute. According to\u00a0Sowetan Live, Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe confirmed that the case against Sjava was declined for prosecution\u00a0fortnight\u00a0ago. \u201cLast year the case docket was handed over to the senior\u00a0prosecutor\u00a0for\u00a0a choice\u00a0. \u201cOn\u00a0November 5\u00a0, the case docket was withdrawn by the director of public prosecutions at court,\u201d he said to the publication. After the allegations were levelled against him, Sjava maintained his innocence. In August this year, he released a video\u00a0during which\u00a0said he\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0a rapist. \u201cI am not a rapist.\u00a0I even have\u00a0for years been advocating for (against) abuse of any kind, any shape or form, be it women or children abuse, even\u00a0alcoholic abuse\u00a0,\u201d said Sjava. Sjava said he believes what really led to\u00a0things\u00a0between him\u00a0and therefore the\u00a0\u201cCollide\u201d hitmaker was the incident at his One Night With Sjava concert where he introduced his \u2018wife\u2019 to the audience. He stated that he understands that Lady Zamar felt disrespected and embarrassed by the incident. \u201cI apologise for putting her\u00a0therein\u00a0awkward situation where she felt embarrassed and was made to feel less of\u00a0an individual\u00a0because people starting seeing her as a side chick, and scolding her for dating a\u00a0husband\u00a0.\u201d \u201cI also\u00a0would really like\u00a0to apologise for not loving her the way she wished to be loved,\u201d said Sjava. NPA spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi said: \u201cThe state declined to prosecute the case because it believed the facts or evidence\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0support a successful prosecution. Calls to Sjava\u00a0and woman\u00a0Zamar went unanswered.
