As for the song itself, “Family” finds Ferg reflecting on his mama, daddy, grandmother, and more as he slides over a smooth, bass driven instrumental. It’s always nice to hear Ferg going in over something more old-school; in many ways, he feels most comfortable over nineties-inspired live instrumentation. This track is no exception, and Ferg’s laid back flow is razor sharp, reminiscent of peak Busta Rhymes.
